Testing out new Discord chat room for sharing TG images and videos

I am testing out a new Discord chat room for transgender and crossdreamer fantasies, images, captions, stories and videos, and you can join it here.

If you are not a member of Discord, you should sign up first.

The new Discord "server"  was born out of a discussion over at the Crossdream Life forum, where many felt there was a need to make a clear divide between general discussions about crossdreamer sexuality and fantasies and the posting of erotic images for the sake of enjoying those images.

The Crossdream Life chat room remains the place to discuss transgender, queer, crossdresser and crossdreamer issues.

If you want to explore TG erotica just for the fun of it, however, you may join Xdreams.

Gender Bending in Electric Dreams

The very first episode of Amazon's TV series Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams has a gender bender theme.

(This post contains spoilers, be warned!).

Electric Dreams is a series in the same tradition as The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, with freestanding episodes with a science fiction or fantasy theme.

The script writers have made a clever use of the science fiction reality concept of virtual reality. In this case the virtual reality is so real that it is indistinguishable from real life.

The main character, which starts out as the future cop Sarah, uses a VR machine for therapeutic purposes and finds herself in the past, as a man.

So is it a male to female transformation story? Maybe not. That's the clever part of this story.

In any case, even if the gender change is not the main topic here, there are some interesting reflections of why the virtual reality is relevant for readers of this blog.

Please note that in some countries this episode is listed as episode 5 of season 1.

Is BDSMLR the new tumblr for TG and "sissy" captioning?

TG caption found over at BDSMLR

BDSMLR is not a good name for a site. That being said, it looks like it is on the verge on becoming the new haven for "sissy caption" sites, now that tumblr has banned all porn.

BDSMLR has definitely seen a significant increase in traffic after the tumblr porn ban on December 17, as reflected in this Alexa graph:

BDSMLR has spent a lot of time and money on upgrading the site in order to tackle the new traffic. There are still glitches and bugs, but the site seems to be stable at the time of writing.

The old tumblr TG and "sissy" blogs  are still found over at tumblr, but if you want to access any blog that is considered explicit, you will have to go through your tumblr member panel. The blogs can no longer be accessed via the blog's regular web site.

Relevant search terms no longer give any useful results and tumblr is blocking any posts its robot think is in violation of the new terms. In other words: It is only a matter of time before it becomes completely useless for the publication of explicit erotic photos and captions.

BDSMLR bans revenge porn, zoophilia, necrophilia, pedophilia, graphic violence and/or "any other type of obscene and/or illegal material." What the latter means is unclear. Since they actively promote their site as an open alternative to tumblr and accepts a wide variety of porn, I suppose TG and feminization material should be safe.

Below  find some examples of feminization blogs found over at BDSMLR.

From what I can see the site is dominated by femdom, "shemale" and "sissy" TG sites, as opposed to classical TG caption sites. (I am using quotation marks around "shemale" and "sissy", as I find both terms quite problematic.).

I suspect the traditional TG caption sites, with less humiliation and more text, are more likely to chose Blogger as their publishing platform. Let us know what you think!

If you have moved your site from tumblr to BDSMLR or somewhere else, let us know by adding the new name and URL in a comment below.

Tumblr bans porn blogs, and destroys a whole tg subculture

Tumblr has decided to close down all porn blogs from December 17, and is even banning images with "female-presenting nipples". That term is as stupid as tumblr's move.

Blogger presented a similar plan some years ago, but Google changed their minds, apparently concluding that erotic adult subcultures could be a good thing, and the erotic Blogger blogs survived.

This means that the tg caption and fiction blogs hosted by Blogger survive, while the tg and "sissy" blogs found over at tumblr will die.

There is a kind of generational divide between the transgender fantasy blogs found over at Blogger and the caption blogs found over at tumblr. The blogger blogs often contain longer texts or stories about male to female transformation. The tumblr blogs are more slogan-like: erotic memes meant for quick consumption.

There exists, to my knowledge, no realistic alternative to tumblr for these blogs at this point. Blogger lacks the social sharing function found on tumblr.

Sexual Chemistry, end of the century sex change fantasy

In 1999  Mike Sedan directed and presented a sex comedy called "Sexual Chemistry." It was one of many softcore straight to DVD films made by him, but this was, I believe, the only one that had a sex change as its main theme.

The movie is set in a company that is trying to produced a libido-enhancing drug, and the scientists are competing to find a solution.

The main character, Robert, has stored a few potions from a previous relationship with a witch, and decided to adopt that potion to this new purpose. It turns out the new drug works as announced, but it has also has a serious side effect: It transforms Robert into a woman.

Sure, this is a B movie, it uses the old mad scientist scenario, and the script and the acting are so and so, but compared to many other movies of this kind, I think it is fun to watch.

I especially liked the way Robert shamelessly enjoy's his newfound female sexuality.

The DVD may be bought through some of Amazon's resellers.

Wicked on a Gender Bender

It isn't often the porn industry goes on a gender bender, and when  it does the results are rarely impressive. Wicked recently presented a male to female transformation story called Cursed, and it is a mixed blessing.

For some reason nearly all movies of this kind starts out with a misogynistic man offending women with his clueless and sexist behavior.

In this movie, as in many others, a witch decides to teach him a lesson. The witch in this movie is of a younger and more sexy model, that is true, but the basic storyline is the same.

Since this is a porn movie, the acting is pretty bad. There is one exception, though: Whitney Wright does a  good  job playing the role of post-transformation, post-traumatic, Ryan.

There are no bathroom scenes of the "oh God, where did my cock go" type. It actually takes some time before he realizes what has happened, and that is when his ex-girlfriend Alexa turns up at his door. This obviously ends up with him cheating on his male self as Alexa's lesbian lover.

Porn movies including gender changes most often stay away from the male to female transformer having sex with a man.

I guess this might cause some serious identity conflicts in the regular straight male audience watching the film.  This was what happened in Wicked's previous gender bender movie, Switch, where a man swapped bodies with his wife (played political porn celebrity Stormy Daniels.

Cursed, however, ends with a bizarre scene where the female Ryan meets the male Ryan and have sex together in the hope of merging their two bodies into one male one. This never makes any sense, and even less so when we find out that the witch intended to switch him back, anyway.

In other words: The gender change is mainly a silly plot device that does not really do it for people who are looking for transgender erotica.

Destiny – a TG trip back to the 1960s

TG fiction and comics are full of clichés, and that is fine with me. But sometimes there comes a long a completely original concept that blows your mind. The latest comic by Femur and Smooch is like that.

I have never seen anything like it. The storytelling is great, the illustrations spot on, and the historical settings impeccable.

There are limits to what I can tell you without giving the game away, but the story takes place in the late 1960s in USA. Chad is searching for his missing brother Jeremy, and a meeting with a girl in San Fransisco leads him to a hippie commune in a remote part of Marine County. This collective seems to be run by a man called Max, but for some reason all the other members are women – sexy women, beautiful women, attractive women.

The Sex Trip, a missed opportunity

Eddie wakes up and finds out he has become Jade Ramsey.
Anthony Cohen's movie The Sex Trip makes use of nearly all the gender bender clichés we know from Fictionmania:

Vain and misogynistic male chauvinist bastard? Check! This one is even writing books about how to trick women into sleeping with you.

Meeting wizard/witch/genie who wants to teach him the true value of love? Check! It is a homeless woman this time, and as he refuses to kiss her, he soon finds himself waking  up in a sexy woman's body.

Hilarious bathroom scene with missing penis panic and breast grabbing? Check! Although it is not that funny, and there isn't much breast grabbing. You should think... well, nevermind.

Learning to know the value of real love after having spent time as a woman? Check! So what seems like a traditional sexist movie at the start, turns out to have a pro-woman, nearly feminist, message in the end.

It is not a bad movie, per se. It presents itself as a romantic comedy, and it truly is an unpretentious romantic comedy.

MTF Bodyswap Comic Crosswind to Become TV series

There is a nice presentation of the comic Crosswind over at Crossdream Life.

I have not read it myself -- yet! -- but it is a bodyswap story where a hit man and a suburban housewife find themselves trapped in each others' bodies.

Major Spoilers report that the comic will be turned into a TV series as well. Variety writes that the executive producer will be Vanessa Piazza of Lost Girl and Dark Matter. Co-creator/artist Cat Staggs will apparently be a consulting producer for the show.

The comic is available from Image comics.

Thai and Chinese MTF body swap movies

If you hurry, you might catch two recent body swap movies from Asia over at YouTube.

The two are If I Were You (Biàn shēn nánnǚ), a decent romantic comedy from China and Love Arumirai, a slapstick comedy from Thailand.

Turn on English subtitles using the Youtube settings. The Chinese movie has a few audio drop-outs.

I have written more about them over at Crossdream Life.

J.J. Abrams is planning a live-action version of the Japanese body-swap anime Your Name

Your Name must be the best body-swap movies ever made.  It is a beautiful love story, and the kind of high quality anime we have normally seen from Studio Ghibli.

The two main characters switch bodies, but in a fashion that is much more complex that we see in most movies using this plot device.

The 2016 movie was made by  Noritaka Kawaguchi and Genki Kawamura, and was a huge hit world wide. If you haven't seen it, do so now.

Deadline reports that J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode IX) and Lindsey Weber will produce for Bad Robot, along with Genki Kawamura.

American adaptations of films from other countries are problematic. This applies to anime, as well.  Ghost in the Shell was a fiasco. Still, I am looking forward to this one.

Inside You, A Feminist Body-Swap Movie

The body-swap theme seems to be popular among some directors these days.
Inside You is a brand new one, directed by a woman, Heather Fink, and is playing in some US theaters right now.

I haven't seen the movie yet. It is marketed as a romantic comedy, and the write-up goes like this:
Stephanie and Ryan have been dating for 5 years but their views on marriage couldn't be more different. After a botched marriage proposal and an encounter with a magical object, Stephanie and Ryan switch bodies. They navigate the wonders and challenges of the opposite sex while making unexpected discoveries about each other.
Heather Fink plays the role of the main female character herself. This is her first feature film.

To SplitSider she says:
It was important to me that the female character was not a stereotype of a woman and the male character was not a stereotype of a man. I think in real women, there are several contradictions when it comes to what being a woman is all about. So what is it really then when we switch bodies?

Cleo/Leo, bigoted business man becomes sexy woman in this 1980s movie

It is amazing to see how many male to female transformation movies follow the exact same plot:

1. Callous and sexist boss is transformed into a sexy woman
2. Sexy woman learns how it is to be a woman facing all this crap
3. And most often: Boss learns to live as a woman

This applies to Sam, The Sex Trip, Goodbye Charlie, and Switch.

Leo/Cleo is another one, from 1989, made by porn film director Chuck Vincent and with porn actress Veronica Heart in the leading role. In spite of some nudity, this is not a porn movie, however.

You could better categorise it as some kind of romantic action comedy.  It is not good, but it is not bad either, and Veronica Heart actually knows how to act.

For readers of this blog, it is worth the time.

A Great TG Comic Creator: Kennal

One of my favorite TG comic makers is Kennal, who can be found over at TG Comics.

These are hand drawn comics, brightly colored, and with great story telling.

Anyway, she has a new chapter of her Raan series out now.

This is a crossdresser love story set in a cosplay culture.

She has also comics with magical body transformations.

Read Raan's Doll here!

Lost in Transgender - From the history of transgender movie making

World of TG is a site mainly devoted to the erotic side of TG dreams, including captions, stories and movies.  We use stories for entertainment and in order to understand what or who we are.

Movies has been used for this purpose for a long time, and Cheryl has done an excellent job covering older transgender oriented movies over at her site Lost in Transgender.

She writes about the backstory, the actors, the directors and the times the movies were made.

The movies can sometimes be hard to get hold of, but by doing some internet searches you will be able to find some of them.

She also uses the site to promote the Tranisa crossdressing and gender bender videos in between the historical articles.

Paradox Alice, a full feature male to female transformation movie

Feminized has given us a short write-up om Ms. Mako's feature length movie, Paradox Alice.

Paradox Alice is a science fiction movie about a all male crew stranded in space after the Earth blows up.

This extreme situation forces nature to take desperate measures (or, at least, that is one of the explanations given) and one of the men is brutally transformed into a woman.

It is definitely a feminization fantasy of sorts, containing many of the elements found in TG captions and fiction. However, they become part of a much larger story about life, love, morals and religion.

See: Paradox Alice -- gender bending science fiction (NSFW).

The whole movie has now been uploaded to Youtube and you can watch it all here:

The Assignment -- a forced feminization fantasy or pure entertainment?

From the comic book The Assigment.
This is not a film about a transgender woman! The makers of The Assignment insist. I would say they are right about that.

This is the story about a mad scientist (played by Sigourney Weaver) who kidnaps the notorious contract killer, Frank Kitchen, and uses hormones and surgery to turn him into a woman -- for revenge.

He suddenly wakes up one day, in a dirty hotel room, with breasts and a vagina.

But that does not make him a woman, mentally, and if Michelle Rodriguez does one thing right in this movie, it is that she presents the post-op Frank Kitchen as a guy, as the hit man he truly is.

You could say that there is one trans person in this movie. Sigourney Weaver plays the role of a transmasculine woman.

I think it works as a film noir B-movie. You caught up in the action and truly wonder how it all will end, and what kind of life Frank will have in his female body.

Whether it was also meant as a feminization fantasy, I do not know, but I know that many of the visitors to this site will watch it as such.

The movie is based on the comic book The Assigment.

You will find more info on the movie and discussions over at Crossdream Life, where you will also find an interview with Walter Hill, the director of the movie, from the comic book version of the story.

Kämpfer - Japanese anime with a gender twist

Japanese culture may seem strict and uptight, and in many ways it is. Still, when it comes to entertainment they have a very relaxed attitude to gender bending. There is even a body swap porn genre.

In anime (Japanese style animated movies) quite a few plots are based on boy being changed into girl, and that applies also to non-erotic material. Well, maybe non-erotic is not exactly the word we are looking for. There are plenty of very curvy bodies in sexy school girl uniforms, even if there is no explicit sex.

Goodbye Charlie

Given last years gender bender movies (Sam and The Sex Trip) it may make sense to go back to one of the first ones: Goodbye Charlie.

Wikipedia has this to say about the movie:
Goodbye Charlie is a 1964 comedy film about a callous womanizer who gets his just reward. It was adapted from George Axelrod's play Goodbye, Charlie and starred Debbie Reynolds and Tony Curtis. The play also provided the basis for Switch, with Ellen Barkin and Jimmy Smits.
I would say that it is better than all the other movies mentioned above. I like the script and I like the comedy.

Needless to say, Charlie comes back as a woman after being murdered. A sexy vamp of a woman. And although Charlie takes to his new life a bit too quickly in my opinion, the drama that unfolds is worth watching.

Not that everyone agrees with me. In 1964 the New York Times wrote the following:

GEORGE AXELROD'S play, "Goodbye, Charlie," was bad enough on the stage. On the screen, it is a bleak conglomeration of outrageous whimsies and stupidities. And it has Debbie Reynolds and Tony Curtis so sadly cast in distasteful roles that it causes even a hardened moviegoer to turn away from it in pain and shame.

Ouch!

You can watch it now, if you like, as the whole movie is available on YouTube.

Buy yourself a TG comic for the holiday season! The Harper Kelly Story

I like TG Comics. It has become the important gateway into transgender comics, erotic or otherwise. Quite a few of them are even free.

Today, however, I would like to draw your attention to one of their Premium comics, the Ballad of Harper Kelly. It is made by one of my favorite TG artists, Sturkwurk, together with Renee Roselli.

Sturkwurk is making 3D computergenerated graphics (using Poser, I believe), and as many of you will know, that is not without its risks. You easily end up in the socalled "Uncanny Valley", where people look nearly real, but not real enough. Hence the "uncanny".

Sturkwurk knows how to make use of genuine facial expressions and more to make the images look natural, however. This works. And Renee's story is fun and engaging.

Harper Lee works at a nanotech company that is not amused by his attempts at bringing ethics into the business model. They have the most interesting ways of making him and his police girl friend shut up.

The comic has some sexually explicit sections, but I guess the readers of this blog won't mind.

The Ballad of Harper Kelly. There are (so far) two parts, each priced at US$ 7.95.
